Information you give us
When you submit a news tip, event, listing, contact message or advertising request, we collect what you enter — typically your name, email address, optional phone number, and the details and images you send. We use this to review your submission and to contact you about it. We don't publish your email address or phone number unless you ask us to (for example, as the contact for a lost pet).
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we store your email address, when you subscribed and that you agreed to receive email. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. We may use an email service provider to send newsletters; they process your address only on our behalf.
Statistics
We count page views to understand which information is useful. These counts don't identify you. We store a one-way, scrambled version of IP addresses on submissions to prevent spam and abuse. If Google Analytics is enabled, Google may set cookies and process usage data under its own privacy policy.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep forms secure. Staff accounts use a sign-in cookie. Embedded maps, analytics or verification checks (if enabled) may set their own cookies.
Advertising
Ads on this site are sold directly to local businesses. We count how many times an ad is shown and clicked, without tracking you across other websites.
Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete information you submitted, or to remove your newsletter subscription, by contacting us.
